Waiweherua is a place where our tamariki transition into the senior syndicate. Waiweherua is a ‘stairway’ providing the children the knowledge and experiences need to move further up their learning journey staircase. Our learners in Poutama are provided opportunities to begin to take on more responsibility of their learning with an increasing independent aspect, fully aligning with group and whole class teaching. Waiweherua holds key emphasis on all of our tamariki having the opportunities to develop into rangatira of our syndicate and our school encouraging self management, responsibility, problem solving, and resilience. In Waiweherua there is an increased level of EOTC opportunities available to our students with our camp at school, rocky shore, and marine reserve visits.
